Mesosternal carina broader posteriorely
Selenymenum Montandon

Mesosternal carina narrow and tapering posteriorely
Stevesonius Rider,

comment: This key is diverging from the one given by Kumar (1974), which would give an opposite result concerning Selenymenum and Stevesonius. But examination of Jeannel type of Stevesonius acutus and of his descriptive drawings clearly agrees with a narrow mesosternal carina. It is not so clear relatively to Selenymenum, and in fact, one could ask if the distinction between those two genera is justified or not.
